Lamont Jones, native New Yorker, proud husband of 28 years and the father of 5 children, a spiritual father, author, transformational speaker, fatherhood coach and mentor to many. Lamont is the Co-founder of The Furthering Fathering Corporation which was established in New York in 2013 along with his best friend Jeremy A. Maynard before relocating to Atlanta later that year. Lamont expanded Furthering Fathering in 2014 and serves as the Chief Executive Officer in McDonough, Georgia. He is a Master Certified Life Coach, Anger Management Specialist and holds an Associates Degree in Christian Theology from Grace Bible College & Seminary.

Lamont’s prior career has also been of service, he retired from the New York City Police Department as a 2nd Grade Detective. He was recognized and promoted twice by his supervisors and have received various awards and accommodations for his service and diligent work. His final years of service as a Detective he worked directly under the Chief of Internal Affairs where he facilitated the handling of sensitive data, critiqued and reviewed highly sensitive internal investigations.

The motivation and onset of positively addressing fatherhood issues and sharing his parenting experiences came at a pivotal time in his personal life. Mr. Jones seeks to parent intentionally against the pull of peer pressure and the culture. Lamont co-hosts a weekly talk show called Furthering Fathering Radio every Tuesday on Blog Talk Radio, iTunes Podcast, iHeart, Google Play and several additional digital platforms. Lamont co-facilitates monthly fatherhood workshops, where fathers are honored, encouraged, held accountable; reconcile issues and relationships via training. He is the co-author of 2 books, "The Mandate - God's Calling Towards a Father's Ultimate Purpose" and "Dads Life Plan", 2 curricula "Getting to the H.E.A.R.T. of Fathers" and "Leading the Legacy" as well as a free eBook download, "The 7 M's of Effective Fatherhood". 

Former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg honored Lamont with the NYC Dads Matter 2013 Award on June 13, at Gracie Mansion. He was amongst 10 recipients selected out of several hundred fathers submitted. Lamont served on the National Advisory Council for the Honorable Man Campaign and recently served on the Steering Committee for the McDonough Youth Advisory Council. As a servant leader operating in his purpose which is to turn the heart of fathers to their children, Lamont is the co-producer of Fatherhood Today which is an on demand channel documenting the involvement of fathers in the lives of their children and promoting positive content to change the narrative and dismiss the myth regarding black fathers not involved in the lives of their children which is featured on FLiTV on multiple digital platforms.
